None of us believe lies on purpose. They are believed with sincerity. That is why they are so deadly. They are the appearance of truth wrapped in a shiny attractive wrapper. Jesus said that we would know the truth and the truth would set us free (John 8:32). Most people do not know the Truth that will enable them to go to heaven. Whatever you believe now, you are exhorted to watch the video below by Pastor Alan Brumback at First Naples Church in Naples, Florida on February 25. Just make sure you know that what you believe lines up with God’s Word. Nothing is more important than where you will spend eternity.
This 46 minute video is a blip next to infinity. When we die, we will go to heaven or hell. God is very clear about that. What is not clear are the thousands of religions that contend to be the way to heaven and they are not.
The issue is not about our performance, that is bad religion because we cannot possibly be good enough to go to heaven based on our good life.
Our good life is not perfect since it includes sin and no one is entering heaven with sin. How do we get rid of the sin in our life? Only one way! Faith in the Perfect Sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross on our behalf. He is our Substitute. It is this simple….if Christ is not our Savior if His forgiveness has not canceled our sin, we will die in our sin. His Perfection covers our imperfection just as the Wisconsin Badger covers the human mascot inside. You will see this marvelous illustration in Pastor Alan’s message.
There are three shades of truth that Pastor Alan teaches in the video.
- Legalism – all that you do for God
- Mysticism – all that you experience with God
- Asceticism – all that you do not do for God
Please understand that believing in deceitful lies can lead to death. We all take risks in our lives, unwittingly falling prey to fraudulent schemes that we believe to be true. Nobody intends to fall for scams, but it’s only after the fact that we suffer the consequences. Therefore, ensure your salvation now, for when we stand before God in judgment, it will be too late to change our minds.
