Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6
Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the Second Person of the Trinity, the Son of God and the fulfillment of all the prophets. He is Perfection, both Man and God, two natures in one. He lived a sinless life and died for the sins of the whole world as the Perfect Sacrifice for all of our sins. We get to the Father through the removal of sin. Christ died for us so that we could be forgiven and be found not guilty of sin through trusting in Him as the payment for our sins.
The Father so loved us that He sent His Son to remove all of our transgressions. The entire Old Testament reveals the need for a sacrifice for sin to please God the Father. But those sacrifices were not perfect, they were given to show us the ultimate sacrifice of God Himself on the cross. Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sin. Without Christ, we cannot get to the Father. We will die in our sin if we seek to please God without that forgiveness. Many try hard, many are very sincere, many are trusting in their religion or good works to justify themselves but that won’t work. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. The Way to God the Father is through the cross.
