No holiday captivates the world like Christmas. We stop at the end of the year and seek to bring smiles to everyone we meet, especially our loved ones. Gifts are on our mind, some were purchased months ago. Some were quite expensive and gave us great anticipation. But we don’t want to leave anyone without a gift and we don’t want to be left out! No gift is unthinkable. No gift makes Christmas not Christmas. A gift is special because someone else paid for it. It’s free to us at someone else’s expense. That makes us feel special.

But, have we thought about the reason for gift giving? The greatest gift of all is actually a Person. “The Perfect Gift for Christmas” is Jesus. He came out of love for a lost and dying world.  He came to save us from our sins. Actually the Christ Child came to eventually die on a cross for us. He never sinned, He always loved. He desired us so much that He paid the full price for our failures with His Blood.

Have you received The Perfect Gift? The forgiveness of God? Make sure that you have room in your heart for your Creator. Jesus is so much more than we realize. He gave us life when we had our first birthday and He seeks to give us life a second time by faith. All that’s required is that we believe in the true meaning of Christmas!
