Syncretism is the mixture of all religions that are not Christian. At the end of time, Christ is coming to save all who have placed their faith in Him. All others will not be saved.
That is true because the only way for our sins to be removed is through faith in Jesus Christ as the payment for our sins. All other religions have faith elsewhere.
Jesus said that He was the Way, the Truth and the Life and that no one could come to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). That verse alone tells us that apart from Christ, we are lost.
Let’s look at this very important issue in three ways.
1. Christ Missing or Insufficient
Any religion that does not see Christ as God and Man as the Lord and Savior of the world is not Christian. Christianity is built on Christ alone as the Author and Finisher of our faith.
Christ is the Cornerstone and Foundation of Life. Apart from Him, there is salvation in no other name (Acts 4:12). Jesus said in John 15 that without Him we could do nothing; we are like branches disconnected from the Tree without Him. Jesus stated that everyone who built their house on anyone or anything but Him was building their life/house on sand that would crash eventually (Matthew 7:24-27). Only Christ is the Solid Rock upon which we can build our lives. Jesus Christ is both human and divine. No other person who has ever lived can claim that.
The Person of Christ is the union of both God and man – Hypostatic Union. Throughout the Bible, Jesus describes Himself as both the Son of God and the Son of Man.
2. Christ Lowered to the Same Status as Others
If Christ is not God, He must be seen as just another human being. Therefore, He is only one of many gods. Some see God as the hub of the wheel and all religious beliefs as the spokes on the wheel.
Some believe sincerely in whatever religion they choose, They may be sincere but Jesus said the way to God was only through Him and affirmed this many times.
There are not many spokes to God. The only way to God the Father is through God the Son. Jesus stated that He was the Narrow Gate and that few find it. Broad is the way to destruction and many find it (Matthew 7:13-14).
Jesus said that He was the one and only Good Shepherd and that all others who claimed to be shepherds were false (John 10:1-18).
“Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber.”
3. The Woman on the Beast
Revelation 17 describes a Woman on a Beast. She represents all false religions. Jack Graham calls her Syncretism. This teaching is quite clear as Jack states that there are two women in the Bible; The Bride of Christ is the church (all believers) and is joined to Christ at the end of time according to Revelation 21:1-2. The bride of Satan is the Woman on the Beast (all non-believers). Satan deceives many into thinking they are ok with God when they are not. Anyone other than Christ is the “hired hand” (John 10:13).
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.”
